For the last 5 years, this contest has promoted local innovation by recognizing the most significant ideas and projects implemented during the previous year. In addition, the competition provides an opportunity for participating organizations to benchmark against other leading organizations, and acts as a motivational tool for employees. In our assessment this year, we used a proven and innovative model for innovation metrics and measures.

Ajman FZA was suffering from high employee turnover. In their effort to retain employees and improve their income, they had the idea where the Authority and the employees will start small businesses (part owned by the employees). They currently have a cafeteria and a print shop owned by the employees and last year return was over 180 percent. |

| DIFC Courts | Code of Professional Conduct A need was identified to have a unified code of conduct for all local and international lawyers practicing in DIFC Courts. They worked systematically with the lawyers, the judges and the customer to come up with the criteria needed for the code. We all need transparencies in the workplace and this Code of Conduct is very unique. |

| Environmental | Dubai Municipality | Car Free Day This creative idea was focused to change the mindset and the culture of the public in using public transport. The level of support and commitment by Dubai Municipality leadership makes this effort a true standout idea. |
